After twenty-nine (29) years of service to the Guyanese people, Courts Guyana has plans to further expand its operations locally.
At its 29th anniversary last Friday, Managing Director Vincent Gordon said, the company will be investing $120M to remodel its Main Street location. The idea he said is to offer Guyanese a better shopping experience.
Gordon said the objective has always been the same, which is, to improve the lifestyle of customers while making living affordable.
“So, for us, it is about how we have helped to change the landscape in Guyana, with financing options where customers can get what they want; where customers can shop freely and easily, and where the lifestyle of the rich and famous can be the lifestyle of the not so rich and famous; and that’s really what Courts brings to the table. We facilitate affordable living and affordable lifestyles, allowing our customers to live out their aspirations.
He explained that when the company started it was selling furniture, appliances and electronics, but they have grown exponentially.
“Today we have different brands, we have Ready Finance, we have Lucky Dollar, we have our Radio Shack chain, we have a chain of optical stores across the country and of course we have our Ashley home store, that’s located in the Giftland Mall. So, after 29 years, what’s next for us?”
The next steps Gordon said included, first remodeling their Main Street Store; followed by an upgrade to the Regent Street based Lucky Dollar Shopping Centre. However, those details he said will be made public at a later date.
He said, having products and a nice space is just a part of the story, but they will be going further to revamp what they believe is their definition of service. According to the General Manager, while the company can compete with others, there is still much more to be done.
“We are going to revamp service which is going to be in line with the facilities that we have. So that we provide real shopping experiences that our customers really will enjoy; an experience that they will speak to, and that’s going to take place in terms of not just our interaction in store. We’re going to revamp our delivery commitment; our delivery promise. We’re going to revamp our service expectation, which is, our after sales service; and we also will be revamping and communicating some bold initiatives both in our extended warranty product especially as it relates to our optical side”.
The company said it is always excited to work with shoppers and is grateful for the support they have received over the years.
