Every ISO certification issued to a local company, transforms the business landscape in Guyana.  This critical piece of information was shared by Operations Director, EVO Business Solutions, Mr. Shemar Quintin.

EVO Business Solutions is a management and support company which provides assistance to local businesses seeking to have their operations certified to meet international standards.

During an interview on Saturday (August 6th); Mr. Quintin said Jai Signs and Auto Designs is one of several businesses his company has been working with to attain certification.

“Not just to the ISO 9001:2015-Quality Management System, but also to incorporate other management systems such as ISO 45001:2018 – Occupational Health and Safety and the ISO 14001:2015- Environment Management System”

He explained that his company has been working with local businesses to document their operational procedures and bring them into compliance with all of the required standards.

According to him, his company does not focus on single system management but instead an integrated management system which comprises multiple standards with a single documentation.

“That was our key role with Jai Signs and Auto Designs; assisting the company in achieving this milestone”

He said that ISO certification allows companies to demonstrate that their focus is not just domestic, but international; a concept he said that is integrated across multiple countries.

Mr. Quintin noted that there are many companies like Jai Signs, however, what sets them apart is certification. “This helps the company to distinguish itself in the minds of consumers, particularly those within the oil and gas sector”.

Chief Executive Officer of Jai Signs, Mr. Nankumar Rampersaud, said he sees the certification as a phenomenal accomplishment for his company. The businessman explained that he started Jai Signs in 1994 doing registration plates for vehicles with just paint brushes and a table.

“This certification, emphasizes the commitment of our team and resources to providing customers with innovative solutions through the application of modern technology within our manufacturing process, to ensure quality signs, precision, and customer satisfaction”.

He said his company is also working on becoming OSHA certified; this should happen in a few months.

Mr. Rampersaud said that Jai Signs is committed to fostering an environment that not only ensures safety for its employees, but customers and other stakeholders.

He said; “Through the provision of personal protective equipment, strategic mounting of safety signs, communicating unsafe conditions or behaviours, addressing unsafe practices and maintaining an open-door policy for direct engagement with employees and management”; a safe environment will be achieved.

Jai Signs was certified through SGS Panama Control Services Inc located in Panama.
