A West Bank Demerara (WBD) man is on a quest to ensure Guyanese have access to top-notch general cargo transportation and has launched his business ‘Elefreighters Trucking Services.’
30-year-old Kevalall Motielall is the man behind Elefreighters Trucking Services – a company that provides general cargo transportation, household moving, interior transportation, light commercial equipment haulage, crane/hiab rental, 24-hour accident recovery, and roadside assistance.
Motielall told Business Inspire that while attending the Art Williams & Harry Wendth Aeronautical Engineering School, he realised he wanted a business to help support his aspirations.
And a love for driving and machinery made it natural for him to start a transporting business. As such, he got his first truck in 2013, and his business kickstarted from there.
“My mentality steered me down with determination and after years of childhood savings to afford my first canter truck to start. Being in a situation of being in school, having final exams, helping parents with their business as son duties, and driving part-time to start my business to kick off my business plan wasn’t easy.”
He added, “Years of little sleep and sweat. Sometimes went weeks without a job initially on startup. Subsequently, workload started to rise as compliments and satisfied customers started to spread the word of my service.”
From there, the demand for his services increased, which triggered him to make more investments and acquire staff.
Being an aircraft maintenance technician by profession, Motielall said that he had to quit his full-time job to handle his venture.
The businessman relayed that one of his biggest challenges is sourcing competent staff to upkeep the business’ standards and vision.
“We offer quality with standards with safety as our foundation and number one, innovative team to work with tedious tasks, going the extra mile with fleet maintenance so as to assure quality and reliability, doing the little extra things that matter to our customers to assure security and integrity of our customers’ cargo which offers them comfort and ease of mind, use of high-end tools and relating apparatus to maximize efficiency.”
Motielall plans to venture into heavy machinery/equipment haulage, cargo container shuttling, and bus service.
