MMG customers are advised to complete any urgent transactions before 11:00 PM tomorrow, Friday, as the service will be temporarily offline from Friday night until 6:00 AM Monday. The downtime will facilitate the completion of a major upgrade to MMG’s mobile application.
Chief Executive Officer Mark Singh described the upgrade as a new chapter for MMG, noting that the company has built a stronger, smarter, and safer platform designed to give users more control and confidence when managing their money.
Singh emphasized that the scheduled downtime is a necessary step to ensure a smooth transition to the new system.
The upgraded app introduces several high-demand features, including:
- Password resets and account unlocking
- Wallet loading via credit and debit cards
- Profile management tools
- Enhanced data encryption
- Self-registration with ID verification
- Onboarding tutorials for new users
- Privacy enhancements such as the ability to hide wallet balances
- A responsive in-app help centre with frequently asked questions
According to Singh, the goal is to make digital payments feel effortless and familiar. “Whether you’re topping up your phone, paying a bill, or running a small business, the new MMG app makes it easier, faster, and more secure,” he said.
